This is our personal experience with CastleRock communities in Baytown, TX. We signed the contract for an inventory home at Goose Creek landing Section 1.

Ofcourse contract is completely one sided and the Sales Rep Mr. Scott van Gonten did not want us to read the contract completely before we sign it. He tried his best to prevent us from the reading the contract but we read it anyway and decided to sign on it because we did not have any option to change it. Then the real nightmare started: Mr.

Scott repeatedly claimed he did 53 inspections and they exceed quality and they exceed code, but we still did our inspection. During inspection we came to know there were lot of building code violations. According to our inspection report, the house which we were going to buy has atleast 6 building violations. Since it is a brand new house we asked the builders to correct it but Mr.

Scott doesn't want to accept that they did not meet the building code. I am afraid he may have built the whole section that way. We are first time home buyers and since we have not control of future we don't want to be stuck with a property which we cannot sell in future. Who in the heck would expect a new building to have damaged and scuffed shingles?

We were 4 days away from closing and we liked the cosmetic appearance of the building but we were not foolish enough to buy a property with so many building violations which could cost us upto 50000 dollars in couple of years. During this whole nightmare we learnt one lesson, never ever trust builders line "we have gazillion number of inspections". We feel so hurt that inspite of doing everything from our part we couldn't succeed in buying that house, but we feel happy that we did not do the mistake that other home buyers did by buying in that location.

Who knows when a law suit will come from HOA. Thank God.

Thank you for the review! Very helpful as I was considering purchasing there but noticed a few red flags myself. It's too bad as the location and properties are nice, but God only knows what nightmare will be awaiting home owners there.
